Siberia in winter is a cold and lonely place, so finding for any kind of life is cause for celebration.
Alexy Trofimov, a wildlife photographer, did exactly this when he came across a sweet fur seal pup.
“It was tough to shoot a Baikal seal pup on the ice,” he said. “It took me three years to get my first picture.”
“Seals are very cautious and easily frightened, so it is difficult to photograph them. It was a scarce and special moment.”
The baby seal even lifted its flipper as if it were waving to Tromifov and letting it close to him.
It took him three years to get his first shot of seals on the ice, and this puppy has given him more than he could have imagined.
“I was delighted to be able to capture such a rare photo; Seals are very cautious and easily scared, so it is difficult to photograph them; it is a scarce and special moment. ”
The baby was with its family that Trofimov had also met; they all seemed happy to see him, which meant how lonely their surroundings were.
“If a seal pup isn’t too scared, they’ll start to get curious about you, and this is what this seal did.”
