If you are a fan of Discovery Channel, you probably know about Air Jaws – a fascinating series that brings us closer to the life of the awesome great white sharks in the ocean. Air Jaws was first aired in 2001 – 2002, but it wasn’t until 2010 that the show came back spectacularly and has been broadcasting regularly since then.
The series is basically a fierce battlefield where shark experts compete to capture the most stunning moments of white pointers breaching into the air. Its most recent season Air Jaws: Ultimate Breach Off starred three teams led by three incredible experts Chris Fallows, Alison Towner and Dr. Enrico Gennar, all were brave and experienced in the field. But in the end, it was Chris Fallows who was named the winner with the breathtaking shot of a great white shark breaching about 15 feet out of the water at Seal Rock in Mossel Bay, South Africa.
“The shark came rocketing out of the water. In the air, you see it twisting and turning as if it is trying to dismember its prey,” said Fallows. “I don’t know how the other teams are going to ever beat that. I don’t know how I’m ever going to beat that.”
The majestic scene didn’t come naturally, Fallows and his team (as well as other teams) had been floating in the sea for three months in search of such a moment. And when this shark showed up, they knew that their hard work was paid off. It was a 10-foot young male with plenty of energy, he leaped like a real hunter.
“I can’t believe how high it came out, it was just perfect,” he said. “That is an incredible image, a photo you dream of. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, well that picture is worth a thousand breaches.”
The terrifying breach not only helped Fallows won Air Jaws 2020, it also broke the record of the whole series. The shot was simply amazing and the great white also went viral itself right after the episode was aired. He has won the hearts of so many admirers worldwide.
Please share his striking performance with your friends and family!
